Bill Perry

About me

I’m a retired university professor, educational materials developer and journal editor who grew up in the Midwest and lived outside the US for over 35 years working at universities and supporting Peace Corps programs around the world.

I currently live south of Boston and work with writers, particularly seniors like me, to help publish their work as ebooks or paperbacks. I welcome challenging projects and truly enjoy the personal interaction with clients. I am open to working on a wide range of topics and always ensure that my work is accurate, thorough and of high quality.

I also provide support to seniors who need help with technology, especially with Apple devices.

Please feel free to contact me if you are interested in working together to publish something important to you or to solve a technical problem.

Book Projects

“From his first read of my manuscript to its publication as an ebook and print edition Bill had a grasp of what was needed when and how to guide me there with encouragement and insight. His easy, supportive manner disguises his depth of technical know-how at every step of the way, seeing details that need resolving while never letting go of the big picture. I love to write, but dreaded the process of making my writing become a book. Bill made it a fun learning experience that kept me going every step of the way. Thanks and kudos to a master guide and trainer. ”

“I thought I could quite simply ‘do the Kindle self-publish thing’ by myself. Wrong! You not only want your book in the right formats, you also want it to look inviting and substantive enough for purchase. Bill did exactly that for me! I am so grateful. He helped me realize a dream.”

Rolf Engstrom

Working on this book from pre-publication to final form was very motivating for me. The family felt a sense of urgency to get the book completed in as short a timeframe as possible. Although some steps in the process were challenging, we managed to get the book published in both e-book and paperback in a very short time. It was a great pleasure for me to work with the family on this project.

My grandfather first published our family genealogy in 1968 after years of research. My mother and I helped in the editing of the book and in the late 1990s, I digitized and re-edited his original publication. The editing continues to this day, but my grandfather’s style has been kept in tact.

I enjoyed helping the author prepare this story of his life in time for a family reunion where he made the book available to his close relatives.

It was a pleasure to edit this book with the help of my colleagues in Write On Writers at People Plus in Brunswick, Maine. It is a very enjoyable read–a mixture of poetry and prose from a dedicated group of writers.

Nonie Moody complied this collection of historical information about Write On Writers at the People Plus senior center in Brunswick, Maine. I helped her digitize her work and have helped make it publicly available as a PDF file.

I had the privilege of working with Lani Havens on a collection of her art work. Although it was a challenge to get the all of the art in the right format and to get the collection printed, it was a true labor of love.

Helping Alan Rosen publish this entertaining and insightful book was a pleasure. It is a highly readable collection of stories about his life between New Jersey and Japan.

I truly enjoyed one of Alan’s comments about my support in his acknowlegements: “Without (Bill’s help), these tales would still be sleeping in my computer.”
